Regular season ends on road before Big Ten tourney

The IU women's tennis team closes its regular season this weekend on the road. The Hoosiers travel north to battle Michigan and Michigan State. IU faces the Spartans Saturday at 10 a.m. in East Lansing, then travels to Ann Arbor to play Michigan at the same time Sunday.\nThe Hoosiers (15-7, 4-4 Big Ten) hope to add to their recent success. IU has won four of its last six matches, which is the best winning streak since the Hoosiers won 10 of 11 -- a stretch that ended in early March.\nExpected to step up on the singles side for the Hoosiers is freshman Inga Radel, who has won 12 straight singles matches and 20 of her last 21. She is undefeated in Big Ten matches, with a string of eight victories.\nOn the doubles side of the competition, Linda Tran and Karie Schlukebir are expected to continue their recent strong performances. The duo has won its last nine matches, two of which were against ranked opponents.\nThe Hoosiers first face the Spartans (11-9, 3-5) who fell last weekend to Iowa, 6-1. The Hawkeyes also handed the Wolverines (10-9, 3-5) a 5-2 loss.\nThe Hoosiers head home following this weekend to play host to the Big Ten Championships that run April 25-28.
