Editors in chief chosen

Ryan Gunterman will take the reigns this summer as IDS editor in chief. His term will be followed by Aaron Sharockman, who will take over during the fall semester. Jamie Wolfe is the new Arbutus editor in chief.\nTo be considered for editor in chief, the three candidates filled out lengthy applications and subjected themselves to questions from the IDS and Arbutus Board of Publications, respectively. The IDS interim publisher, Nancy Comiskey, is a member of both boards. She is excited about the potential they possess.\nGunterman is itching with anticipation for his upcoming challenge.\n"I'm really looking forward to this summer; I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing," Gunterman said. "Its going to be such a great experience."\nComiskey has much confidence in Gunterman's future as IDS editor in chief.\n"Ryan handled some tough questions from the board and did a wonderful job answering them," Comiskey said. "He had clearly given a lot of thought to what he wanted to accomplish this summer."\nOnce Gunterman's term expires, Sharockman will step in as fall editor. Sharockman interrupted his study abroad trip to Prague, Czechoslovakia, to apply for the prestigious position. He said he was eager to tackle his future opportunity.\n"At first I didn't want to be editor; it was a long progression to get mentally prepared," Sharockman said. "The reward isn't so obvious, but I see it. A lot of the reward is what you make of it."\nComiskey was impressed with the commitment Sharockman showed by flying home for the interview.\n"The fact the Aaron flew in from Prague shows volumes about his commitment to the IDS," Comiskey said. "Even jet-lagged he did a fine job of fielding questions from the board."\nAs editor in chief of the Arbutus, Jamie Wolfe is looking forward to the challenge of covering all of the events that affect and encompass IU and its students.\n"It's exciting knowing I get to be a part of an award-winning book with an ongoing tradition," Wolfe said. "I want to make it an enjoyable year for everyone on the staff. Hopefully there will be events that will impact people's lives and get them involved with the Arbutus."\nComiskey is confident in Wolfe's ability to lead the yearbook through next fall.\n"Jamie's involvement with the Arbutus is going to be invaluable to her; she is absolutely committed to making the Arbutus as strong as it can be," Comiskey said. "She loves working at the Arbutus, and that comes through in her work"
