Law schools to offer tips on applying successfully

Representatives from about 65 law schools will be talking with students today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the IU School of Law's annual Law Day. The information session takes place in the Indiana Memorial Union's Alumni Hall.\nThe forum will be highlighted by a panel discussion by four prominent law school admission officers titled: "What I Look for in a Law School Application."\nThe panel discussion will feature admission deans from Duke University School of Law, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, University of Toledo School of Law and IU-Bloomington Law School.\nThe session is open to anyone considering law school.\nAt the session, students are encouraged to speak with representatives about any issues that concern them -- admission policies, preferred majors, course work, recommendation letters and extra-curricular activities.\nStudents will also have the opportunity to get information about the schools -- specialties, joint degrees, clinical programs, tuition, financial aid, employment, starting salaries, programs and clinics. \n"Recruiters who are impressed by individual students can occasionally influence admission decisions," Mac Francis, pre-law adviser, said in a release.
