Don't forget about what happened to the boy who got everything he always wanted. He lived happily ever after." \nWell, Willy Wonka was right if one of those things wanted is "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" on DVD. Not only has the movie excited audiences for 30 years, but now that the movie has been re-released with plenty of special goodies, fans of the musical hit are excited once more.\nCharlie Bucket is a young boy who lives in poverty with his mother and grandparents. All he wants in life is one chance to make his family's lives not so miserable, and that chance happens when Mr. Willy Wonka holds a contest for golden tickets. Five golden tickets can be found in the millions of 'Wonka' chocolate bars around the world. The finders of those tickets get a lifetime supply of chocolate and a tour of the amazing Wonka Factory, a place where, "Whoever goes in never comes out." \nCharlie is one of the lucky ticket finders, and the adventure into the amazing, yet super-secretive Wonka factory begins.\nThe movie is great already, and now that it has been restored in digital format it is breathtaking. The visuals with all the different rooms of the factory are brought to life in the updated version. The film can only be watched in full screen, but this is just a small mistake the creators made. The special features include the original feature made in 1970 and a new feature produced 30 years later.\nThis is one of the best documentary featurettes made for an re-released older movie. The documentary talks to the writer, producer, director and actors 30 years after the film was released. It is reminiscent of a 'Where are they now?' special, but the featurette lets the audience in tons of secrets that happened behind the scenes. One such little-known fact is the movie was created to promote a new Quaker Oats candy bar called "The Wonka Bar." Because of a mistake in the formula, the chocolate bar only lasted a couple of weeks on the market because it melted while sitting on the shelves.\nThe commentary on the disc is cute and creative, but nothing amazing. The reason it is so cute is because it is done by "The Wonka Kids." This is the first time all five child actors have seen each other in 30 years and the directors of the DVD thought it would be a good idea for them to comment on the film together. Every once in awhile you'll get an interesting fact about how they never knew if Gene Wilder (Wonka) was really acting or if he was just crazy. \nOther than those tidbits, the commentary is mostly spent catching up and talking about things they could remember from when they were making the movie, which isn't a lot. For true fans of the film, the disc creators should have put two commentaries on where one actually learned facts such as the movie was a metaphor for the seven deadly sins. At least that is this reviewer's opinion.\nAlong with these special features, and a feature that lets you 'Sing Along' with the Willie Wonka songs.
