Lance and Joey pull it off

Starring: Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Emanuelle Chriqui Directed by: Eric Bross Showing: Showplace West 12

Have you ever met the perfect girl? (and let her get away)," is a tagline many college students can probably relate to. So goes the tale of "On the Line," the story of Kevin Gibbons (Bass), a ridiculously shy man who always seems to chicken out when it comes to women. \nThe movie begins in 1994, when Gibbons, lead singer of a popular local band, chokes onstage when dedicating a song to a beautiful girl in the audience. We are then transported to seven years later where Gibbons is a successful advertising man but still has the same old problems when it comes to women.\nGibbons stumbles upon the girl of his dreams on the "L." After bonding over a love for Al Green, who makes a cameo appearance, and the Cubbies, the beautiful girl (Chriqui) is forced to part ways with Gibbons and continue her journey on board another train, leaving no name or phone number. \nIn a desperate attempt to find his mystery girl, Gibbons hangs signs all over the city. The signs not only draw the attention of every available woman in Chicago, but also that of cocky reporter Brady Francis (Dan Montgomery Jr.), who writes about Gibbons' plight for his paper. With the help of his friends, Gibbons carries on a search of the city that leads them in all the wrong directions. \nThe constant suspense of whether or not Gibbons will find his mystery woman keeps the plot flowing smoothly. His romantic and sweet personality make you fall in love with him and you just can't help but feel sorry for Gibbons and hope he succeeds. \n"On the Line" is really cute and romantic and would be a great date movie. Although I must admit that the main reason I wanted to see the film was because I am a huge 'N Sync fan, I can honestly say that I would have enjoyed it even had Bass and Joey Fatone not been included. \nI would definitely recommend seeing this one, especially if you are a fan of romantic comedies. The soundtrack, which features new songs from 'N Sync, is an added bonus.
