'IDS' stood up for what is right

I want to congratulate the IDS for having the courage to print the ad placed last Friday by David Horowitz, which opposed reparations for slavery. At other schools, the editors of the newspapers were threatened by mobs of intolerant liberal activists who did not want the view supported by the majority of Americans to be heard. Some of the activists called Horowitz, who was an ally of the Black Panthers in his youth, a racist.\nBut so far the IDS has not backed down as editors of some other student newspapers did, and this is commendable. The point of view that reparations are bad should be heard. The idea that people should have to pay for the sins of their ancestors is ridiculous, and it certainly does not help the arguments in favor of reparations to consider that most people's ancestors were not slaveholders anyway, and that many people's ancestors even fought slavery.\nThank you for printing David Horowitz' logical and common-sense ad.
