The first annual "Click-to-donate" scholarship program has been launched by the Kelley School of Business. Two students, sophomore William Harcourt Haughey and masters student Wei-Li Shao, are the inaugural recipients of the award.\nThe business school introduced the first Kelley Alumni Internet Scholarship Fund to promote the donating of money through clicking on Web sites. Kelley School alumni are funding the scholarships for both graduate and undergraduate students through a "click" system. Every time someone clicks on the scholarship fund's Web site, www.kelley.iu.edu/alumni/scholarship.cfm, it is logged as a donation.\nThe program was started in January by the first sponsor, 1972 graduate Robert W. Dollens, who is now the chief executive officer of Guidant Corporation and is a member of the Kelley School of Business Dean's Advisory Council.\nAfter each clicking donation, users are given Dollens' profile and directed to his corporate Web site. Donations can be made to the program once a day. Currently, the School plans to award two Kelley Alumni Internet Scholarships every year. If the number of clicks increases, more could be awarded in the future.\nThe recipients were picked by an alumni review panel based on a written essay. Each winner receives a $1,000 scholarship.\nMeal points drive approved by IUSA\nThe IU Student Association approved a motion to hold a charity meal points drive by a vote of 24-3-2.\nThe drive, designed to raise awareness of hunger in the Bloomington community, will allow students to donate meal points to local organizations which serve poor communities. \nIn a two-day miss-a-meal program, IUSA collected 2,000 meal points from students. IUSA then gave $1064.60 to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. The food bank is a local organization that gives food and supplies to local homeless and poor people.\nJustin Barnes, one of the bill's co-sponsors and IUSA director of student rights, said in a press release, "The drive provides IU students with a convenient opportunity to make a positive contribution to the Bloomington campus."\nRecSports seeks summer lifeguards\nThe Division of Recreational Sports is looking for summer lifeguards to work at the University. \nWages start at $6.75 per hour and go up to $7.25 an hour. \nApplicants need the American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. People interested whose certifications have expired can be re-certified for free by someone from the Recreational Sports Aquatics staff.\nFor more information, contact amelick@indiana.edu or call 855-9798 before May 6.
