Advertisement offends intelligence, rewrites history

I am a senior here at IU, and I feel that it was very inconsiderate, insensitive and disrespectful of the IDS to print David Horowitz's ad in the paper April 13, considering all of the racial controversy that has been taking place in other parts of the country, and considering IU's history of racist actions toward minorities on this campus. The printing of this ad sends me the message that IU supports racist views. This ad was full of half truths about African-American history and with IU being an institution of learning, the printing of this ad was an insult to all of our intelligence. I was very offended by the printing of this ad because I am an educated African-American woman, and this ad insulted my intelligence as well as my heritage. \nI have one question for the IDS. What exactly was your motive for printing this ad?
