Iris Neal, longtime business manager of the Indiana Daily Student, died Monday afternoon at age 80.\nNeal retired from the IDS in 1981. \n"She always enjoyed the student aspect although she worked in the business side," her son, Byron K. Smith, said. "She always enjoyed contact with the students."\nSmith emphasized Neal's commitment to IU. \nFormer IDS publisher Patrick Siddons said he enjoyed working with Neal. \n"She really kept her nose to the grindstone. She did her work extremely well," Siddons said. "She took pride in doing her work. The books were always in order."\nVisiting hours are from 1 - 3 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Day Mortuary, 2701 E. Third St.
