Hoosiers dominate first road trip match

After Saturday's match at Marquette, the Hoosiers remain perfect for the season. \nThis was the first road trip of the year for the Hoosiers (5-0), but that didn't slow them down. Marquette was not an easy team to defeat; the Golden Eagles have been to the NCAA Tournament three of the past four seasons. \n "Today was a good win for us," head coach Lin Loring said. "They are a good program. They are a young team like us this year."\nThe No. 1 doubles team of senior Kelly Blanch and freshman Martina Grimm knocked off the Eagles' Laura Garcia and Genevieve Charron 8-6. Junior Amanda Field had little trouble with Charron in their match-up at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3. \nOther singles winners for the Hoosiers included freshman Linda Tran, Grimm, sophomore Jessica Levin and senior Jennifer Hsia. \nDoubles winners included Levin and Tran, who improved to 9-2 on the season, and Field and Hsia. \nThe only loss of the afternoon went to Blanch, who fell to Garcia, the Eagles' lone senior, 7-6, 6-3. It was Blanch's first loss of the season. \nThe Hoosiers look to remain unbeaten this weekend as they travel to College Park, Md., for matches against Maryland and Duke.\n"It was important before we head to Maryland for us to go on the road and get a win on the road," Loring said.
