Police investigate vandalism at Islamic Center

Bloomington Police are investigating a second case of vandalism, which occurred at the Islamic Center in a single week.

Police were called around 11:25 p.m. on June 3 to the Bloomington Islamic Center at 1925 Atwater Avenue. The passenger side of a Toyota Corolla had been smashed in, possibly by a metal hinge found on the car's hood. The first case of vandalism was noticed, but the owner of the vehicle did not want to file a report.

According to Bloomington Police, the Islamic Center is looking for the owner of the first car to file a report.

The vandalism happened during iftar, which is the meal eaten by Muslims to break the Ramadan fast.

When leaving the Islamic Center late Sunday evening people noticed the vandalism for the first time and called police.

There are no suspects at this time.
