White swastikas and "KKK" were painted along light poles, electric boxes and the pavement of the B-Line Trail on Thursday.
At approximately 11:20 p.m. a witness said they noticed a male with facial hair and a beard painting light poles along the trail with white paint.
The suspect in the case was using white paint to write "KKK" and draw swastikas.
These words and symbols were drawn on light poles 142, 144, 145, 146 and 149.
BPD also responded and officers are investigating the vandalization of a stop sign on South Washington Street. The vandalization on the sign read "Fuck Trump."
Both cases are still active and police are investigating.
