But a trip down Griffy Lake turned out to be anything but ordinary for freshmen Mike Miller and Derek Hershberger. Hoosiers drop 2 of 3 as bats fail

Despite solid pitching efforts, the Hoosiers managed only one win in a three-game road trip against Murray State, Kentucky and Navy this weekend. In search of their first road win, the Hoosiers had trouble finding much success at the plate, going a combined 11 for 64 in the first two games.

Penn State ended Michigan's try for three straight Big Ten Indoor Indoor Championships Sunday as the Nittany Lions won their first indoor title. IU placed fifth, 18 points behind Ohio State and three ahead of Michigan State.

Opera buffa when a Turk goes to Italy

Most operas are lucky if they can get a half-hearted chuckle out of an audience, and it is even more impressive if a real laugh is produced. The audience for the IU Opera Theater's production of "The Turk in Italy" sounded more like the laugh track to a Friday night standup comedian than an opera.

3 killed, 18 missing in tanker blast

PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- The Coast Guard searched the frigid Atlantic Sunday for 18 crew members of a tanker that exploded while carrying 3.5 million gallons of ethanol. Three crewmen were known dead, and six others were rescued.
