Men tune up with Marathon Oil

·

Coach Mike Davis is concentrating on Tuesday's game, even though IU plays Marathon Oil tonight. But that's understandable. Marathon Oil is simply a tuneup for Pepperdine, IU's first opponent of the regular season.

·

Barry Alvarez isn't afraid to say it. He won't try to fool his team or the press by lying to them. The naked truth is, the Wisconsin coach is terrified of Hoosier junior quarterback Antwaan Randle El.

Strong quarterbacks lead Hoosiers, Illini

·

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Illinois was in many ways similar to Indiana heading into Saturday's game. Like the Hoosiers, the Fighting Illini entered the game after a disappointing loss last weekend. Like IU, Illinois needed a late season surge to qualify for postseason play. Like their opponent, the Fighting Illini had a junior quarterback, who knows how to make big plays.
