Minnesota's strong pitching tandem of Piper Marten and Angie Recknor shut down the IU offense in the Hoosiers' trip to Minneapolis for a pair of games over the weekend. The Hoosiers were also scheduled to play Wisconsin in a doubleheader Sunday, but the games were canceled because of inclement weather.

No Michigan might mean IU victory at OSU

·

In each of the women's golf teams last two tournaments, Michigan won and IU took second. This weekend, the Hoosiers compete in the Lady Buckeye Invitational, taking on a field that is without the Wolverines. But that doesn't mean the Hoosiers anticipate an easy victory.

Team manager adds new dimension

·

You won't see a record by his name, or even proof of him having played. He works about three and a half hours a day, six days a week and cleans out the grubby water jugs, shags tennis balls and destroys the strings on the rackets, then, restrings them. These are just a few of the duties performed by junior Brian Van Handle, team manager of the IU men's tennis team. He seldom gets noticed, but the team would be at a loss without him.
