Lynch and Hoosiers start over after ‘Playing 13’

IU to fight Illini at home Sunday

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Instead of London and Paris, the phrase borrowed from Charles Dickens is a tale about Bloomington and Champaign. The tale of the two cities was authored by freshman guard Eric Gordon and his decision to de-commit from Illinois and commit to IU in October 2006. It was a decision which captured national headlines and severely altered each team’s expectations for the 2007-2008 season.

Hoosiers fall to No. 19 Ohio State on the road

The IU women’s basketball team played No. 19 Ohio State tough on the road, but the Buckeyes used the play of Jantel Lavender, Marscilla Packer and Tamarah Riley to earn a 71-59 victory Thursday night in Columbus. Lavender scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Packer and Riley added 17 and 16 points, respectively.

IU goes on the road to face No. 19 Buckeyes

After splitting a pair of hard-fought conference games at Assembly Hall, the IU women’s basketball team will hit I-70 and travel east to take on the No. 19 Ohio State Buckeyes today. The Hoosiers (9-6, 2-1) will face perhaps their toughest test of the young Big Ten season in the Buckeyes (11-3, 2-1).

White joins 20-20 club in victory

The Hoosiers (13-1, 2-0) opened Big Ten play 2-0 on the road for the first time since 2002, led by senior guard D.J. White. The team captain finished with 21 points and a career high 22 rebounds – the most for an IU player since 1992 and 13th most all-time for a Hoosier.

Gibbs resigns as Redskins coach
