Hoeppner nominated for national award

Less than a month after having his second brain surgery in the past year, IU coach Terry Hoeppner was nominated on Tuesday for the FedEx Orange Bowl-FWAA Courage Award. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the 2006 season.

Senior, freshman shine in IU victory

With freshman forward Darren Yeagle out of the lineup due to mononucleosis, the IU men's soccer team downed the Louisville Cardinals 2-0 Wednesday night thanks to goals from the team's most and least experienced players.

IU already looking forward to Big Ten Tournament

Unlike most other IU sports, women's golf does not have a true Big Ten season. However, that does not mean the Hoosiers do not look forward to the tournaments with conference teams hosted at Big Ten schools. IU women's golf coach Clint Wallman said he recognizes the importance of winning Big Ten games.

Hoosiers drop 2 in Big Ten

The underdogs aren't supposed to win. That was truly the case this weekend for the IU women's volleyball team as it dropped its Big Ten home openers against No. 2 Penn State and No. 13 Ohio State. The Hoosiers are now 1-3 in the Big Ten and 10-6 overall.

Coach Freitag's new-look Hoosiers now 2-0

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Before the season started, IU coach Mike Freitag called senior Julian Dieterle "the heart and soul of our team." But for the past two games, Dieterle has been on the sidelines wearing a yellow penny over his IU jersey.

IU wins George Mason Invitational

A first win is always sweet. Freshman Jordan Kyle of the IU men's cross country team brought the Hoosiers just that, recording his first ever first-place finish with a time of 24:45 at the George Mason Invitational Saturday in Manassas, Va. It was also a career best for the freshman on an 8K course.

Offense continues to stall Saturday

One offensive touchdown in 120 minutes, two losses. In Saturday's Big Ten opener against Wisconsin, the IU football team struggled to score again, waiting until late in the fourth quarter to score its first offensive touchdown in two weeks.
