With an 0-2-2 record in the Greater Midwest Hockey League going into a two-game weekend series against Grand Valley State, the IU hockey team was worried, but not overly concerned that it didn’t have a league win. After losing twice last weekend, that concern is growing.

Eric Gordon sustains back injury in win

IU men’s basketball star freshman guard Eric Gordon injured his lower back during the first half of IU’s 84-72 win against Tennessee State on Monday, but after the game IU coach Kelvin Sampson said Gordon was OK and will play against Kentucky on Saturday. Gordon sustained a bruised tailbone after falling to the hardwood.

Hoosiers fall to No. 21 Florida State in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Missed free-throws will drive any basketball coach crazy. After the IU women’s basketball team’s 85-78 loss to No. 21 Florida State on Friday night in Assembly Hall, IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack said missed foul shots made the difference in the game.

Ruling the road

A year after finishing 3-8 on the road, the IU men’s basketball team won its first road game of the season Saturday night against a tough Southern Illinois squad 64-51. The win snapped Southern Illinois’ 15-game home winning streak.
