McRobbie recommends tuition increases to Board of Trustees

On Friday, May 24, IU President Michael McRobbie recommended that the University’s Board of Trustees increase tuition and fee rates for Indiana resident undergraduate students by an average of 1.75 percent each of the next two academic years, according to a press release.

Former Indiana Daily Student Editor-in-Chief Michael Auslen has been awarded the Robert D.G. Lewis First Amendment Award. The award honors a student Society of Professional Journalists member “who has demonstrated outstanding service to the first amendment through the field of journalism,” according to a press release.

11 Hoosiers continue to NCAA Championships

Seniors Andy Bayer, Derek Drouin, Zach Mayhew and Emma Kimoto and juniors Kyla Buckley and Darius King will all return to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year.Those six will also be joined by graduate student Scott Houston, junior Robby Nierman, sophomore Taja Moore and freshmen Sophie Gutermuth and Josh Roche,All 11 Hoosiers will travel to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 5-8.

IU Trustee MaryEllen Bishop, Ann DeLaney seek board position

In alumni voting running from June 1 to 29, current IU Trustee MaryEllen Kiley Bishop will face candidate Ann McGovern DeLaney, former state Democratic Party Chair, for the trustee position, according to a press release. Degree-holders from all IU campuses are eligible to vote in the upcoming election for the position on the Board of Trustees.
