Gophers too physical for Hoosiers

Minnesota certainly brought their “A”-game, defeating the Hoosiers in a fashion that reminded fans why they are ranked No. 4 nationally. Although the Hoosiers lost a physically tough match 41-3, IU Coach Duane Goldman said he believed the final score did not indicate the amount of effort that was put forth by each wrestler.

The No. 49 Hoosiers hosted No. 52 Missouri, Marquette and Bowling Green over the weekend in a tournament that was organized into seven singles flights and one doubles flight.

As I reflect on the past year, I find myself wondering: How can I live a more fulfilling, Gangnam-style life in 2013, and, more importantly, what exactly happened to Joseph Kony? After leading with 23 points at the end of the first half, the No. 5 IU men’s basketball team watched its lead get cut in half by a No. 8 Minnesota team determined to battle back after being almost defeated 20 minutes into Saturday’s game at Assembly Hall.

The Hoosier men handled their opponent, winning 80-52, but the women found themselves in a much tighter contest. In what proved to be a deciding event, sophomore Brie Roller came from behind to win the 4x400-meter relay on the final leg and put her team in position for a 69-67 victory.
