This Sunday, a pizza delivery driver hit a man who was standing in the middle of the street and believed to be under the influence of alcohol, Police said.

Fall break remains work in progress, not a reality before 2011

Fall break won’t become a reality next year. However, IU Student Association executives said they’re working with administrators and faculty to develop a proposal that would give students both Labor Day off and a fall break in 2011, if accepted this year.

Campus Super Star auditions come to IU

Campus Super Star, IU Hillel’s search for the most talented vocalist attending any of the universities or colleges in the state of Indiana, will be holding Bloomington auditions this Sunday. Campus Super Star takes contestants through three rounds of competition ending with one person being named Indiana’s Campus Super Star and winning a $5,000 prize. Bloomington try-outs will be noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Indiana Memorial Union in the Hoosier Room.

New credit rules limit both students and credit companies

In an effort to curtail the predatory practices of credit companies and protect consumers, President Barack Obama signed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act in May 2009, the final rules of which go into effect Feb. 22.

This week is designated as “reading week” for many students at the University of Kent. During this week, there are no classes and students are encouraged to use the time to catch up on course work, which may include reading, essay writing and preparations for the exams at the end of the year. Each department has its own designated week for this purpose, although each week usually falls around the middle of the term.
