I've never worn a dress. Really. Say what you want about the Scottish, but men wearing skirts, dresses, spaghetti straps and those fancy schmancy sandals are frowned upon at best and ostracized at worst. As the world tries so hard to rid itself of bigotry of all kinds, I see we have not yet removed all the pebbles from our bowls of light, especially regarding male and female gender roles.

Court disables learning

Last month, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied Andrew Wong, a medical student claiming to be learning disabled, on his claim that the University of California denied him special rights as protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. The court found that Wong's affliction did not qualify as a disability protected under the ADA.

Rhino's offers creative outlet

Students protest Ball State policy

MUNCIE -- Some Ball State University students say the school's efforts to control underage drinking are not working and are worsening relations between students and campus police. The University instituted a public-awareness campaign and zero-tolerance policy last semester after the violent deaths of two students who had been drinking.

New burrito chain draws critism

Students angry with the addition of a Chipotle restaurant to Kirkwood Avenue ripped down the sign announcing the restaurant's arrival on one of the busiest streets in Bloomington. Upset by the emergence of yet another commercial chain in downtown Bloomington, the group of students tore the sign down, denouncing its operations and relation to parent-company McDonald's.
