Clutch kicks in, team play hasn’t

Clutch moments have happened from time to time early in the IU softball season. In her first start, sophomore Kelli Ritchison’s game-saving catch in left field and senior catcher Tory Yamaguchi’s game-winning grand slam Wednesday are just a few of those clutch moments.

The No. 18 IU men’s golf team will host the adidas Hoosier Invitational this weekend at the IU Golf Course as the Hoosiers try to capture their second consecutive first-place finish.

Willkie Quad defies ‘closed-door dorm’ stereotype with competitive afternoon

Students, especially student-athletes, would probably love the opportunity to play in the Olympic games. Willkie Quad residents will get that chance Saturday. From noon to 3 p.m., residents of the north and south towers of Willkie will go head-to-head to compete for bragging rights, said Allison Gerling, graduate assistant at the residence hall.

The American Cancer Society is holding its annual Relay for Life event from 3 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday on the Billy Hayes Track. The event will honor both local cancer survivors and caregivers while raising funds and awareness for cancer research and patient programs.

Bloomington residents will be able to practice Small Circle Jujitsu on Saturday with the best of the best. Professor Leon Jay, son of Wally Jay, the creator of Small Circle Jujitsu, lives near London, and comes to the Midwest about once a year to teach classes about the use of pressure points.
