Men’s soccer ties Denver

The IU men’s soccer team tied Denver, 0-0, Sunday in Fort Wayne at the ShinDigZ National Soccer Festival, which ended the preseason and sent IU home with a 1-1-1 exhibition record.

Make Labor Day a Day On, Instead of a Day Off

Historically, Labor Day — which, unlike other American holidays, does not recognize any particular group, event, individual or battle — celebrates workers and their contributions to our nation. But I think Labor Day is also a time to recognize the struggles of working people. Especially now, when — despite significant gains — workers and students are feeling more anxiety than festivity.

The first event that will take place in the new area will be the annual Welcome Week event “Taste of the Union.” Starting at 5 p.m. today there will be a band and a fire in the fire pit for the attendees of “Taste” to enjoy.

Auditorium season brings performances from across the board

The IU Auditorium will attempt to surpass its previous successes with this year’s offerings. The auditorium will open its season Sept. 6 with the popular New York-based rock group Vampire Weekend, presented by Union Board and Spirit of ’68 Promotions.

Soccer faces Duke, Denver in Ft. Wayne

The IU men's soccer team opens against Duke at 8:10 p.m. Friday. The team will remain in Ft. Wayne for the weekend to play Denver at noon Sunday to wrap up the preseason.
