CHICAGO -- IU football coach Terry Hoeppner has a lot of sayings. He has one on a sign in his office. 'Recruit 'em every day,' the sign reads. No, not high school prospects or potential players, but fans. And since Hoeppner took his self-proclaimed dream job Dec. 17, 2004, he has done just that, attending more than 50 official IU functions and increasing season ticket sales at a record pace.

Survey: Student volunteering increases, raising $4.45 billion

Each day problems plague cities around the world. Hunger, homelessness and natural disasters, among other issues, give active citizens plenty of opportunities to lend a helping hand in their communities, and according the results of a survey taken by Campus Compact, an organization that encourages civic involvement on campuses, students are taking advantage of these opportunities.

Baird seeks clemency; lawyer says he is insane

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Montgomery County man scheduled to be executed by the state later this month for killing his parents and his pregnant wife will seek clemency on the grounds he is mentally ill, his lawyer said Wednesday.
