COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The IU men's soccer team won its 11th Big Ten Tournament title by defeating Ohio State 1-0 Sunday afternoon.

Delivery driver assaulted, breaks 2 bones in leg

IU police are investigating the assault of an Aver's Gourmet Pizza delivery driver that occurred Thursday night at the Herman B Wells library, said IU Police Department Capt. Jerry Minger, reading from the police report. No arrests have been made at this time, Minger said.

Orion Quartet takes residence with Jacobs School of Music for 2006-07 year

The Jacobs School of Music recently appointed the Orion String Quartet as its first quartet-in-residence for the 2006-07 season. The Orion Quartet, which has made many guest appearances at IU during the last two years, will perform concerts and lead master classes for students twice a semester. They will also work closely with chamber groups and quartets within the school.

Support our troops!

As I walk the streets of Bloomington, I'm constantly encouraged by diverse social agents to "support our troops." There are generally two opposing camps in this argument, one which says to send more troops and more money, the other that says to support them by bringing them home. Both of these arguments, however, are knee-jerk reactions to the continuing deaths of our soldiers and are ineffective in practice.

Beat on the Bratz

"Baby girls with a passion for fashion!" Such is the slogan for Bratz Babyz, a very progressive and educational toy targeting young girls by MGA Entertainment. Except, that's an enormous lie. The dolls don heavy eyeliner, bright pink lipstick, long hair (it's as long as their entire body ... ?) and midriff-bearing tops. And, for Pete's sake, they look tanned. They are supposed to be 2 years old. Yeah, gross.

I always try to be punctual when attending my classes. One day last week, I failed abysmally, strolling in a little past the range that might be generously considered "fashionably late." The FCC won't let me be

In January, WIUX student radio finally moved to an FM frequency after nearly four decades of attempts. But there was barely any time to break out the Keystone before the Federal Communications Commission announced that it would allow WYGB, a country music station, to take control of WIUX's 100.3 FM frequency because of its higher broadcasting priority.
