Colts wide receiver continues Haiti relief

Students and community members in the Indiana Memorial Union Sunday cheered as Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Pierre Garcon took the stage. Some brought jerseys and T-shirts for him to sign. Garcon was there to speak about his work to support Haiti relief efforts. He is of Haitian descent and was invited to the White House earlier this month to discuss continuing efforts in Haiti with President Barack Obama and Haitian President Rene Preval.

“Time For Change” raises money for aids service organization

As Miss Gay Bloomington Sugar Blackmon strutted in her elaborate fake eyelashes, silky black hair, knee-high black leather boots and diamond “bling” to the front of the stage at the Willkie Auditorium on Sunday, the audience erupted into cheers. She touched her body seductively, gyrated her hips, slithering down to the floor as audience members placed bills upon bills in her hands.

In the Department of Theatre and Drama’s newest production “Take Me Out,” baseball plays different roles for the people in the play, even though it’s the only constant as the characters’ world changes around them.

‘Tango Fest’ leaves lasting impression

The festival, a weekend-long celebration of all things tango, kicked off with two Tango Talks on Friday. The discussions brought together dance and performing arts experts to discuss the history, music and social aesthetics of the tango lifestyle. Allowing the audience to join in and gain first-hand exposure to tango culture.

Unlike many ballets that tell a story, “Rodeo” is no tragedy. No one died and no hearts were broken. The head wrangler gets the ranch owner’s daughter, and the cowgirl happily ends up with the champion roper.
