La Casa Latino Culture Center will present a live telecast of the annual Latino Education and Advocacy Day Summit from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today.

Before the summit at California State University-San Bernardino, a capstone presentation by Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers will be telecasted.

The summit, “A Day of Courageous Conversations,” will include speakers such as Civil Rights Activist Sylvia Mendez and Director of the White House Initiative on the Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans Juan Sepúlveda.

Bradley Levinson, director of the IU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies was a collaborator on the new “Handbook of Latinos and Education,” which will also be presented at the summit.

The summit’s goal is to promote awareness of the challenges of Latino education and unite leaders, students and scholars.
