On Sunday at about 11:35 p.m., President Barack Obama announced in a public address that Osama bin Laden was killed in a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Since 2009, the sorority sisters of Alpha Xi Delta have partnered with Autism Speaks, a national autism charity dedicated to  “researching the causes, prevention, treatment and an eventual cure for autism,” according to www.autismspeaks.org.

Local bands The Pharos and The Natives have each worked to produce and promote their latest works just in time for summer vacation. The Pharos released their 5-track EP “Say What You Will” on April 26 with Farm Fresh Studios while The Natives will release their debut full-length album at midnight Thursday.

Straight No Chaser celebrates 15 years

Ten black stools accompanied by 10 mic stands sat centered on the IU Auditorium stage.It was the 15th anniversary concert of the collegiate group Straight No Chaser, which celebrated turning “old enough to get its learning permit” by welcoming home the now Atlantic Records SNC and alumni.

Community spruces up Bloomington streets

City employees, residents, IU students and students from The Bloomington Project School and The Prep School organized at Bloomington City Hall on Friday to rid Bloomington’s downtown area of trash.
