·

With Bloomington’s 10th annual PRIDE Film Festival right around the corner, my biannual struggle with pride festivals is rearing its ugly head again.

What your objections about women in combat say about you

·

I believe the objections to women serving in combat are no more valid than the ones offered against gay marriage or the desegregation of schools. I don’t think these objections are raised out of secret misogynistic tendencies, but rather from ignorance of underlying thought processes.

Education, not economics

·

Former Gov. Mitch Daniels cut $300 million from K-12 education back in 2009. The Pence plan recoups less than half of that figure, despite a $2 billion surplus. Unlike state Sen. Luke Kenley, R-Noblesville, I don’t think kids should be forced to swallow this cut just because their parents have faced pay cuts and layoffs. If anything, kids with struggling parents need better schools.

Be patient with post-grad job hunt

·

Question: As graduation gets closer, I still have no idea what I want to do, and I am starting to get anxious looking for jobs. Even some of my friends with jobs seem unsure of what they are doing. How do I keep looking without knowing what I want?

Hoosier commit Buss continues to set records

·

The 5-foot-7-inch guard followed that performance the next night by setting a new career high, pouring in 54 points on 17-36 shooting from the field and 19-21 from the foul line to knock off a previously undefeated Goreville team, 73-64. Her 54 points also form a new school record.

IU struggles against Northwestern

·

IU (10-10, 1-6) struggled from the perimeter, going 2-17 (11.8 percent) from beyond the 3-point line. It is the fourth time the Hoosiers have made under three 3-point field goals in a game this season. They have lost all four of those games.
