A 21-year-old female reported she was sexually assaulted June 26 at the University Inn on North Walnut Street, a Bloomington Police Department spokesperson said.

Man reports two armed robberies from acquaintance

Police said it appeared as though the suspect found an old checkbook at the victim’s residence and then ordered the victim to sign checks over to the suspect.

Police disarm man with crossbow

Officers observed the 52-year-old man sitting in his living room on the 1700 block of South Park Avenue with a loaded crossbow. Police made contact with him through an open door at the residence, Crider said.

The BPD officers on duty said they believe the child was left in the vehicle for more than 25 minutes while temperatures outside the car remained above 80 degrees.

State trooper shot while halting robbery

Trooper Jarrod Lents, a nine-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, responded to the report of an armed robbery shortly after 1:35 p.m. June 17, when gunfire was exchanged. Lents was shot multiple times.
