If there are private hells for the dead, Che Guevara certainly resides in his. The Cuban revolutionary, born in 1928 and executed in 1967, became the ideal symbol of radicalism. Yes, he was a communist, but not a "bad communist" like Castro or Stalin. He fought against the dictatorial Fulgencio Batista, but he also spurred revolution against the West in the Congo. Guevara fought strongly for his personal beliefs but oversaw the interrogations and executions of political dissidents.

Please excuse me for throwing up, but some loose-haired, Bohemian chick expounding on the wonders of McDonald's new premium salads just frolicked through a green pasture and across my TV screen. "The (commercial) looks like the fresh, green, leafy thoughts a woman has when she's in a mood for a McDonald's Premium Salad," Vicky Free, a director of marketing for McDonald's said in an article for the Denver Post.

French actress given lead in 'Da Vinci Code'

PARIS -- Winsome French actress Audrey Tautou of "Amelie" fame has been chosen to play Tom Hanks' partner in cracking "The Da Vinci Code" in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel, the newspaper Le Parisien reported Saturday.

Library need not be luxurious

People come to the library to study because they would fall asleep elsewhere. Late on a Sunday night, you walk into the Main Library with an armful of books and a long night ahead. A clear table to get your work done eludes you -- there are couches instead. You've come to escape your roommates and all those other distractions in your living room or dorm room.

U.S. ambassador recognizes Iraqi election intimidation

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- The U.S. ambassador to Iraq acknowledged serious problems ahead of next weekend's election but assured on Sunday that "great efforts" were being made so every Iraqi can vote. In an audiotape posted on the Web, a speaker claiming to be Iraq's most-feared terrorist declared "fierce war" on democracy, raising the stakes in the vote.

IUSA Congress passes bus plan

Bomb hoax clears Union

A bomb threat was reported at Alumni Hall in the Indiana Memorial Union at approximately 9:37 p.m. Thursday night, according to police dispatchers. About 20 minutes later, police reported the threat was made from a pay phone at a convenience store on South Walnut Street by a young male.
