Group to host black freshman orientation
A local group is offering an orientation session to help ease the transition to college for IU's black students. IU's Black Student Union is hosting a black freshman orientation at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, Bridgwater Lounge and patio, beginning at 5 p.m. today. Pizza will be served and guest speakers will abound.

Bloomington residents arrested for vehicle theft
Two men were found on campus with a vehicle containing stolen stereo equipment Thursday morning, according to an IU Police Department report. Bloomington residents Daniel Lane, 21, and Charles Starks, 23, were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen items after IUPD officers found them in the Campus View Apartments parking lot near a car containing car stereo equipment and two checkbooks.
DiNardo, Holtz take jobs with ESPN, won't be able to vote in new BCS poll

INDIANAPOLIS - James Jones has left the Indiana Pacers and completed a sign-and-trade deal with the Phoenix Suns Thursday, Suns president Bryan Colangelo said. Jones' new deal is for four years, with the fourth year at the player's option. Financial terms were not disclosed. The Suns sent the Pacers a second-round draft pick in 2008 in exchange for the 24-year-old Jones, who was a restricted free agent.
