Student reports sexual assault in Foster Quad

A female student reported a sexual assault on campus Monday, according to an IU Police Department report.\nFew details are available and IUPD is still in the process of collecting information. \nIUPD is investigating the case as a rape, said Det. Sgt. Leslie Slone. The assault occurred sometime early Saturday morning, in the Foster Quad dorm room of the accused. \nThe alleged assailant was a young male who knew the female for "years," Slone said, citing the report. Alcohol was not likely an issue in this case, Slone said. The female made a hospital visit following the assault, but it was made "for purposes of health" and not for the purpose of collecting evidence, Slone said, adding that the female had no signs of injury.
