Police apprehend man who shot 2 at swimming pool

Bloomington and Indianapolis police were searching for a shooting suspect Tuesday after a dip in an east-side pool was interrupted by a spray of shotgun pellets.

Indiana's economy continues steady, modest recovery, report finds

Indiana’s economy is on a steady but modest climb back to pre-recession levels, according to last month’s report from the Leading Index for Indiana, which monitors changes in the general direction of the Indiana economy. The LII monitors key industries that are important to Indiana in order to index the state’s economy to a numerical value.

Bloomington forms partnership with IU, Duke Energy, Hoosier Energy

On June 22, the IU Art Museum will celebrate the longest day and shortest night of the year — the summer solstice — with select works that evoke the spirit of the Midsummer Night from 7 to 9 p.m.

Ah, summer — the greatest of the four seasons. It’s the sweet nudge of warm air breezing through your open window to wake you in the morning. It’s the smell of chlorine, sunscreen and “grassoline” — the alluring aroma of a freshly mown lawn. It’s a wavy mirage floating up and away from a baked asphalt road. It’s a version of freedom. Just think of all the possibilities.

The other person removed from the room was Rep. Lisa Brown. She was sent out after she used the word, uh, “vagina.” Ew, I just got shivers, did you? I just get so flustered when women use the “V” word. It’s like, gross and uncomfortable.

Police search for suspect who shot 2 at east-side pool

Carlos Nunez, 24, allegedly shot two men near the pool area of College Mall Apartments in the 2600 block of East Second Street, Lt. Bill Parker of the Bloomington Police Department said in a press release.

Former Hoosier diver Loukas zeroing in on second Olmpics appearance

The road to London just got a little shorter for former IU diver Christina Loukas. The former All-American and 2009 NCAA Champion scored 317.46 points in the women’s three-meter springboard semifinals Wednesday and sits in second place heading into Saturday’s finals at the USA Diving Olympic Trials, held at the Weyerhauser Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
