Union Board elections begin

Voting begins today for the 105th Union Board elections. Students can choose from 30 candidates. Polling begins at 8 p.m. Tuesday and will close 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Students gather for Model U.N. conference

Students took their diplomacy skills outside the classroom Saturday as they participated in the first IU Model United Nations regional conference. Delegates from IU, Earlham College and Indiana Wesleyan University acted as representatives of over 30 countries.

Female WWI veterans honored in ceremony

IU doctoral candidate John Summerlot discovered the 29 women were missing from the Golden Book, which lists the names of more than 14,000 IU veterans. He said it was an unfortunate clerical error that denied the women recognition of their service.

Group messaging app donates to IUDM

The group texting app is similar to GroupMe but was created specifically for college students. Quad representatives will be donating $4,000 to IUDM in the name of the top three groups who create quads and get the most points.

Stetkevych to leave IU NELC department

Come spring semester, the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures will lose its only professor of classical Arabic literature, Professor Suzanne Stetkevych.

Professor earns scholar position

Professor Alexander Rabinowitch was recently elected as an affiliate research scholar of the Russian Academy of Sciences St. Petersburg Institute of History, one of the highest honors Rabinowitch could receive within his field of Russian Revolution history.
