Rebels attack refugee camp

DeMuth breaks 1,000

In a stellar 23 point, 12 rebound performance, IU junior Jenny DeMuth became the 18th IU player to reach the 1,000 point plateau and only the eighth Hoosier to do so in her junior season. DeMuth led the Hoosiers to a 65-52 win over Michigan. IU also managed to snap an seven game losing streak and improve their record to 11-14 and 4-10 in conference action. DeMuth's record breaking night placed her at No. 16 overall in IU's career scoring list with 1,015 total points, just two points behind Dani Thrush who stands at No. 15. Despite the feat, DeMuth downplayed the 1,000 point plateau. "I didn't even know about it until a few days ago when someone told me about it," DeMuth said. "But it feels good to get a thousand points. But I just think it's a team game." DeMuth wasn't the only one celebrating as the Hoosiers captured their first win since Jan. 22. Early in the game, the Hoosiers were looking at a 17-7 deficit before fighting back with a 29-7 run to place the score at 36-24.

Hoosiers gear up for last regular season match

IU takes on another top 20 team

The No. 36 IU women's tennis team takes on its third consecutive top 20 foe this weekend when No. 12 Kentucky comes to Bloomington. The Hoosiers (4-2) are winless against the Wildcats in their last nine matches, with their last win coming during the 1992-93 season.

Hoosier Hills Invitational last tune-up prior to Big Ten meet

With one week to prepare for the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships, IU hosts the Hoosier Hills Invitational tonight at the Gladstein Fieldhouse. Last weekend, IU traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., and competed in the Tyson Foods Invitational. IU junior sprinter Ara Towns ran her best time of the season in Fayetteville with a time of 7.41 seconds in the 60-meter run. Towns' time provisionally qualifies her for the NCAA Indoor Championship.
