Academic fraternities offer career opportunities

Alpha Kappa Psi is an academic fraternity on campus for students interested in business, Swisher said. The organization, like other academic fraternities at IU, focuses on professional development, community service and “brotherhood” activities.



Things change

“Living Thing” features little to no guitars but almost solely percussion, simplifying the music and bringing forth the band’s vocals. This style proves very hit-or-miss throughout the album, as some of the lyrics and songs are simply too simple.

IU prepares for first road match of spring season

The practice fields are barren. Nine players are gone. One assistant coach has been swapped for another. With three additions to the IU men’s soccer team, the Hoosiers are using the spring season to integrate a new starting lineup and a former player turned coach.

It’s a depressing time we live in, folks. The economy is floundering, people are being massacred on what seems like a weekly basis and North Korea is firing missiles into the air. Times like these are when you’d normally turn to family and friends for comfort, but they’re all just as scared as you.

Squires earns first save

Junior pitcher Chris Squires came out of the bullpen firing his irregular delivery and emotions all over Sembower Field in IU’s 9-5 win against Valparaiso.

Olson throws no-hitter in two losses

Sophomore pitcher Sara Olson put her name in the IU record books Wednesday afternoon, recording the first no-hitter in almost three years. However, the Hoosiers (5-28, 1-7) still lost to the No. 16 Ohio State Buckeyes (30-6, 7-1) 1-0.

The alt-rock gods must be smiling on Bloomington, as the legendary Dinosaur Jr. will make eardrums bleed at the Bluebird Nightclub on Friday.

The Union Board’s 24th annual Live From Bloomington Club Night will invade town Thursday and Friday. A panel of music connoisseurs hand-picked the event’s 19 local artists, who will also be featured on a LFB compilation CD. All proceeds will go to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.

A suspected U.S. missile strike on a car killed two alleged militants and a civilian in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, intelligence officials said, a day after the U.S.-allied country reiterated its opposition to such attacks to visiting American officials.
