From 1938 until 1962, Herman B Wells served as University president. During his 25-year presidency, IU expanded to include the streets, buildings and student population that make it what it is today.

Little 500

Most people would assume the Tour De France is the biggest bike race in the world. Those people didn’t go to IU. Now going into its 60th year, the Little 500 race is the biggest college bike race in the world. Thousands of visitors pour into Bloomington to be a part of the weekend.

IU offers academic services to help students

The transition from high school to college can be both fun and difficult. Perhaps the biggest difference between the two is the amount of free time students will have. Although loads of free time might sound refreshing, it can lead students to fall behind with schoolwork.

Arnett agrees to contract terms

Former IU pitcher Eric Arnett has agreed to contractual terms with the Milwaukee Brewers, the team that took him in the first round of the Major League Baseball Draft on June 9.

IU senior Kayla Rhodes and junior Amy DiMatteo paddle their kayaks away from shore at Griffey Lake on June 9th. The kayaks and canoes are available for rental from the Girffey Lake Boathouse for $6 per hour.
