Author and Emmy-award winning television reporter Marty Pieratt speaks about his new book "First Black Red" Sunday at Ernie Pyle Hall. "First Black Red" tells the story of Chuck Harmon who was the first African-American to play for the Cincinnati Reds. Pieratt is a visiting professor at Indiana University-Bloomington.

Junior Sonja Nelson views sculptures at the Paul Sweany Art Exhibit on Friday at the Wandering Turtle Art Gallery. The free exhibit featured original transparent watercolors from the Sweany family's private collection. Wandering Turtle is owned by Paul's daughter Jaime Sweany, whose plans to show her father's artwork last year were delayed due to his death.

Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Thomas Friedman speaks Thursday at the IU Auditorium. Friedman's lecture titled "Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution -- And How It Can Renew America" was part of the IU Themester and was free for students with a student ID.
