'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the neighborhood, there wasn’t a decoration in sight. Not a light nor a wreath was hung on a house. No Christmas tree was peeking through the neighbor's window either. This was quite strange since the holiday is such a joy. But will any children get a toy?

Forrest Glasper is an IU senior majoring in informatics and computing. Glasper is a huge influence in his community, inspiring others to follow their dreams. Outside of school, he has a rap career that is taking off. Glasper is going after what he wants and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Soul food is an important part of Black culture. It allows us to show our love for one another through nourishment and preparation — soul food connects the Black community. A nice full Sunday dinner loaded with greens, cornbread, mac and cheese, fried chicken and sweet potatoes is so fulfilling, it makes you hungry just thinking about it. With the holiday coming up, soul food will be spread across many Black families' tables.

Black voices have always been suppressed in regard to voting. Our ancestors fought hard for the right to vote — their determination and passion was unmatched. We have them to thank for our ability to vote. Our voices mean something and are more powerful than we realize.

Tensions between IU Student Government and multicultural organizations have been building up over the past week. The leaders of these organizations believe their voices are not being heard in regard to issues specifically related to diversity and inclusion. As a result of their concerns, student leaders formed a new organization to bring forward demands they have to IUSG.
