The latest Doctor says goodbye
____simple_html_dom__voku__html_wrapper____>Thanks to David Tenant’s charm in the title role and showrunner Russel T. Davies’ writing, the “Doctor Who” franchise was revitalized in the latter half of the decade. The two rarely hit a wrong note on their three seasons together, so it’s a shame “The Complete Specials” marks their ends on the series. The first two specials are fun affairs featuring gleefully absurd situations with Tennant at his fast-talking best.“The Water of Mars” and “The End of Time Part 1 & 2” depict the variety of elements Davies is known for. “Mars” starts off like a horror movie but quickly morphs into a look at The Doctor’s growing despair, and “End of Time” is a perfect send-off that features the return of the menacing Master and an insane climax. The end of Tennant’s tenure as The Doctor features enough dramatic fan service and fun that it’s hard to fathom any fan not tearing up with The Doctor as he says “I don’t want to go.”
