Notes from the pianist in the corner guided the dancers across the Marley floor of studio 305 in the Musical Art Center. It was the third week of rehearsals for the spring ballet, “Star on the Rise: La Bayadère... Reimagined!” None of the dancers looked the same, yet there was a sense of cohesiveness that flooded the room.

After tumbling in two straight games against No. 10 University of Florida during the Florida Tournament on March 16-17, the Hoosiers were looking for a fresh start over the weekend. Team 51 opened Big Ten in a matchup against Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. But the Hoosiers got the opposite of a fresh start, ending the weekend now on a five-game losing streak.

Education has always had an organizational structure stringent enough to never substantially be changed by the students it was subjected to. Schools are not just a hub for education but also a place for young citizens to learn societal order. Here I identify two main aspects of schooling: learning represented by an individual receiving an education and evaluation which systematically discourages students instead of its intended incentive structure.

No. 4 seeded Indiana women’s basketball took to the court inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 against the No. 5 seeded University of Oklahoma. After falling to the University of Miami in the Round of 32 a season ago, the Hoosiers looked to redeem themselves and advance to the Sweet 16.

Despite a career performance from sophomore Connor Foley on the mound Saturday afternoon in Indiana baseball’s 8-1 win over Illinois, the Hoosiers were dominated 9-1 and 15-8 in games one and three, respectively, en route to a series loss at Bart Kaufman Field.

Baseball is a silly game. Indiana head coach Jeff Mercer says it all the time. Some days, the deck is stacked against your team and there’s nothing you can do. On other days, everything you touch turns to gold. "That's baseball” can be used to justify outliers like a four-error game or blowout loss, but when the anomalies become trends, this dismissive approach no longer works.

No. 4 seed Indiana women’s basketball took down Fairfield University Saturday afternoon 89-56 and advanced the Hoosiers into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Contrary to the final score, the Hoosiers were in a deadlocked contest — until a monstrous second half where they outscored the Stags 51-22.
