Student journalists in particular share a special bond. Oftentimes, we are the only independent source of information for the communities we serve and the universities we attend.

High school basketball fans debate fate of state tournament

For decades, the rivalry and spirit of competition between small county schools and big city teams in Indiana had no better expression than through high school basketball. In one of the most controversial decisions in the history of the sport, the Indiana High School Athletics Association voted in 1997 to split schools into four classes.

A giant fiberglass giraffe was erected outisde the Indiana Memorial Union as part of IU's Street Smart campaign. The campaign, which features personified animals like Hank the giraffe, sends messages of safety to students through print ads, online videos and social media messages.
