Diving again was all junior Cassidy Kahn wanted. But during the past year, she has gotten more than that. Kahn’s accomplishments reached their peak for the 2009-10 season when she was awarded the 2010 Thomas A. Brady Comeback Award last week. It has been a season of ups and downs for the men’s swimming and diving team. After a regular season in which they went 1-6 in dual meets, the Hoosiers finished fifth at the Big Ten Championships in February.
With 10 swimmers and two divers, the Hoosiers ended up with 133 points and finished as the top Big Ten team. Many swimmers contributed to that point total, but senior Kate Fesenko was the star for IU.
IU's women's swimming and diving team finished tenth at the NCAA National Championships this weekend. It was the third year in a row with a top ten finish.
With three event finals still to come the Hoosiers currently sit in ninth place at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
After the the second day of NCAA championships the Hoosier are in 14th place overall.
After the first day of competition the women's swimming and diving team is in 23rd place.
The Hoosiers will send 10 swimmers and two divers to the NCAA swimming and diving Championships.
