As the only male color guard member, senior Travis Mefford was the focus of ridicule from some of his peers but never from band members. He said he has not seen any evidence of racism and did not know about the white nationalists until recently. Nevertheless, he said it goes to show how much people do not know about small towns and what it means to be in a community. Emily Berryman
