Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder and General Music Director Fabio Luisi, of the Dresden Staatskapelle, prepare to perform during Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, op. 15, in C Major Monday evening at the IU Auditorium. The Dresden Staatskapelle celebrated its 460th jubilee on September 22, 2008 and was founded by Prince Elector Moritz von Sachsen in 1548. In 2007 the Dresden Staatskapelle become the first, and only, orchestra to be awarded the "European Prize for the Preservation of the World's Musical Heritage" at a ceremony in Brussels, Belgium.
