Folk lyricist Laura Balke wants you to know that she has something to say. What's more is that she has multiple ways to say it. Take her Holiday tribute track "Hot Buttered Rum" for example; it's electronic, smooth, even a little groovy. Nothing like her "Not For This" music video where she twangs the anthem "I can see the cortisone injections in my fingers now" while someone razors away clumps of her hair, Hathaway style.
