Go back 15 years and you have the birth of Cursive, an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. This mid-western city may seem like an odd place for bands to get their start, but with Saddle Creek Records signing bands like Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley and Toyko Police Club it all makes sense.
Cursive would eventually sign to the label and release six full-length albums, each which produced new sounds, new themes and new concepts. Their latest LP, Mama, I'm Swollen was released on March 10, 2009 and "explores the moral quandary of being human, adult, and playing a role in 'civilized' society", according to the Saddle-Creek Web site.
