After defeating Xavier 62-55 on the road Sunday, IU women's basketball received 23 votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll on Monday. IU's 23 votes is the 29th most among those teams who earned votes.
IU still trails No. 25 Oklahoma (9-4) by 42 votes for the final ranked position. The Hoosiers trailed the Sooners by 65 votes in last week's Poll.
The top 20 in the Poll all remained the same from last week's Poll. The only major changes was previous No. 24 Gonzaga falling out of the rankings after losing to Saint Mary's 79-78 Sunday.
The Hoosiers are one of only seven teams that are still undefeated. IU joins No. 1 Connecticut (12-0), No. 2 Notre Dame (10-0), No. 11 Oklahoma State (11-0), No. 14 Iowa State (10-0), Arkansas (13-0) and San Diego (12-0).
Among Big Ten teams, IU is still ranked 5th. The Hoosiers trail No. 15 Penn State, No. 17 Purdue, No. 18 Nebraska and No. 22 Iowa.
IU will get a chance to play two of those teams, Iowa and Purdue, in IU's upcoming games. No. 22 Iowa travels to Bloomington on Thursday and the Hoosiers will travel to play No. 17 Purdue in West Lafayette next Monday.
